This is just about the most phenomenal piece of glass I've ever seen. 13" of bubbles, tubes, caps and just complete head shaking at it's use. This is part of the old old collegiate chemistry/biology sets we've been lucky enough to come across. I once again have no idea what it was for but what it could be is absolutely engrossing. Have fun! (and why am I talking like Yoda for no apparent reason?)

Tube with Etched CC and Bulb

Click to Enlarge One of the premier pieces of this haul, a giant tube with etched cc notations and a blown bulb on the end tapering into a hose receiver. (?)

The heft of this glass is old and quality, and it has something wonderfully scientific going on. This piece is a bit older than the others and just by holding it, you can tell a lot of other people have also. Lot's knowledge has been passed on through this piece.

Click to Enlarge There seems to be bits of things included in the tubes, which I'm sure are totally benign and not scary toxic at all because after seventy-five years most chemicals turn into harmless baby powder. (At least that's what I keep telling myself) Eeeek!

This piece was probably for demonstration as it's kinda science-faired together. It includes one large tube with two smaller scaled tubes in situ, four glass valves, three other cups and some rack and pinion thing tacked on the side. And a phyllotaxy rod (?) that may or not have ever been used with the other pieces, fascinating. Also a wealth of dried up rubber tubes and rusty screws, what else do you need for a mad scientist starter kit?
